Works on the construction of the luxury residences in Strickland House, formerly the Times of Malta Printing Press, are progressing according to schedule. Demolition works were undertaken until the commencement of the summer curfew and the tower crane was erected. Whilst the curfew is being observed, permissible works, such as the emptying and cleaning of reservoirs, and galvanisation of grilles and louvres in the new substation, are ongoing. The smoothening of the top of St. Ursula Street has commenced. Monitoring by the Superintendent of Cultural Heritage is being carried out rigorously.
The highest health and safety measures are being adhered to in order to safeguard not only the project but, importantly, the workers as well as the residents and occupants of the neighbouring properties.
